Banks and financial institutions need to be held accountable for their role in driving biodiversity loss, fragmenting critical ecosystems, and harming wilderness areas. By adopting or integrating the Banks and Biodiversity No Go Areas, however, banks and financial institutions can have a profound, positive impact in saving our shared planet, while also advancing their status and prestige by making a concrete commitment towards protecting people and the environment. Excluding highly sensitive or inherently controversial areas from investment would also significantly reduce their exposure to operational and financial risks.
